Kade Messner ‘17: Three days later, the girls took on Port Huron Northern at home and lost 51-34, surrendering their first loss of the season.
Head coach, Connie Hernden was called for two technical fouls and was kicked out for the remaining seven minutes of the game. According to MHSAA rule, when a player/coach gets kicked out of a game, they are also suspended for the next contest.
Leading the Bulldogs in Coach Hernden’s absence, Amber Flinn ‘17 scored nine points, Cate Bova ‘17 scored seven, and Olivia Medaugh added five.
“Port Huron Northern is one of the best teams in the state,” Hernden said. “They went to the quarterfinals last year and I wouldn’t be surprised if they headed down that same path this year. They are extremely athletic. They have so many weapons, both on the offensive end as well as the defensive end. Mark does a great job with that team.”
With this loss, the girls fall to 7-1 on the season and 1-1 in the MAC Red.
