Brendan Arendts’ 21: The girls basketball team played on Thursday, December 6, traveling down to Our Lady of the Lakes in Waterford Township. They picked up their second win of the season 45-31 and improved to 2-0 overall. The Lakers played in multiple state finals over the past few years marking the overall importance of the Bulldogs’ victory.
Rachelle Baumann’ 19 expressed how much the importance of such an important early season win really means to a team.
“We were really determined to win and had a really good gameplan,” Baumann said.” The first quarter we came out really strong and were up by a lot.”
The momentum really affected the energy of the team going into the break and rubbed off on the bench, which in turn riled up the players on the court.
“It was a really good game and kinda felt like a district game,” Baumann said.
Audrey and Olivia Medaugh ’19 contributed by hitting many three-pointers, sophomore forward Ava Muschong ’21 added to the scoring as well.
The team hosts the Dakota Cougars on Tuesday, December 11 continuing MAC red conference play.
