Jared Czapski ‘18: On Thursday, the girls varsity Basketball team took a trip down to Sterling Heights in an exhibition match. Romeo took the floor and claimed it theirs from the very beginning, holding the lead for the entire game.
“We had a lot of good passing and had a lot of opportunities for getting the ball down low and under the basket,” Karen Brown ‘19 said.
A couple of keys to their success were due to their down low players and being able to feed the ball to the post. Megan Bieganski was caught down low a couple of times and able to put 6 points on the board.
“We started really strong, we came out ready to play,” Audrey Medaugh ‘19 said. “By the end of the game that energy went down a little bit and we were just comfortable with our lead so that took effect onto our play style.”
Although they took it down a notch in the end, that didn’t stop the Bulldogs from taking home the 42-22 victory. A couple of standout performances were from Audrey Medaugh who had 14 points and Amber Flinn with 11 points. This game is sure to be a confidence booster heading into the playoffs. The girls improved their record to 11-9 and are starting their playoff run next week on Wednesday.
