Brendan Arendts’ 21: The girls basketball team played the Oxford Wildcats on Tuesday, December 18, picking up their third win of the season as they move to 3-1. A hard fought game, the Bulldogs needed more defense than offense as the final score read Romeo as winners 34-22.
Amanda LeBlanc ’21 expressed the importance of a sound defensive team.
“I think that our defense was what helped us win,” LeBlanc said. “We didn’t score that much in the offensive end so we had to make up for it with good defense.”
The team thrives off of their starting five consisting of, Ava Muschong’ 21, Natalie Nowak’ 20, Rachelle Baumann’ 19, Olivia Medaugh’ 19, and Audrey Medaugh’ 19. The bench also contributes many points for the team.
The team defeated Utica Ford 46-24 on Thursday, December 20 and head into the break with a 4-1 record on the season.
