Padyn Kesselring ’19 & Andrew Pouliot ’18: The Bulldogs win last Friday night was a symbol, that this team is still relevant and that it takes a lot more than one loss to knock down this team and town.
Trampling the Grosse Pointe North Norsemen, the varsity football team defeated the team, 44-7 at Barnabo Field on Friday night. Earning this victory, the Bulldogs move to 2-1 on the season.
Limiting the Norseman offense, the boy’s defense stifled running back, Jared Jordan ‘17 to one touchdown and forced quarterback Bjorn Bjornsson ’18 to throw three interceptions and fumble the ball.
“I think we play well as a team,” Linebacker Brock Horne ‘19 said. “Having an elite running back in the backfield like Jared always poses a challenge. But getting 11 hats to the football is what we do best and is how we have our defensive success.”
Stopping the Norseman, powered an unstoppable Romeo offense, which put up 41 points in the first half. Austen Malczewski ‘17 rushed for two touchdowns, while Kade Messner ‘17, Nate Goralski ‘18, and Ryan Medley ‘17, all rushed for one. Alvin Resner ‘17 also blocked and returned a punt for a touchdown.
Looking to go 2-0 in MAC Red play, the Bulldogs face Sterling Heights Stevenson this Friday at Stevenson High School.
