Ava Williamson ’18: The Romeo High School DECA club competed Saturday, January 14th, 2017, at Lake Orion High School in the District competition. Competing alongside students from schools all around the area, nine Romeo students qualified for the State competition coming up in March.

State Qualifiers: Cate Bova, Michael Bradley, Jodi Dulecki, Allison Jimenez, Alyssa King, Victoria Lazzari, Claire Maskill, Peter Thomas, and Adam Trzeciakiewicz.

“It was a great experience,” Peter Thomas said. “I look forward to competing in states, and hopefully I represent my school well.”

DECA is a program for high school and college students to join as leaders and prepare for careers in finance, marketing, hospitality, and management. Nine students proved themselves as leaders in the community, when they qualified for the biggest DECA competition held in the state of Michigan.

The state competition takes place on March 10th-12th in Detroit. Good luck to the students who qualified, and bring home a state medal!
