Giulianelli ‘22: Coming off a great weekend, the Romeo Varsity Dance Team took on their second competition of the season!
The girls attended UDA (Universal Dance Association) this past Saturday, November 13th, at Lake Orion High School.
The Bulldogs practiced and drilled their pom routine for the past few weeks. Cleaning a routine takes a lot of practice to be consistent with it and a ton of skill.
Senior Elise Kemp said, “It’s really important to push through and build endurance and strength when learning a competition routine, along with paying attention to all the details to make sure we look unified.”
The girls were ready to step out on that gym floor and give it their all. With a great amount of support from the school.
“As a team and individual, I feel like going into competition we were all very prepared and confident. We definitely made improvements from the previous competition which helped our results. It was fun spending the day with the team and as the year goes on, we continue to become closer as one,” said Kate Block ‘24.
After the girls performed they awaited to see the overall awards and where they placed.
The girls competed in the large varsity pom category and were going up against Grand Blanc High School. The Bulldogs ended up receiving a well deserved 1st place.
The Bulldogs can’t contain their excitement for the rest of their season and look forward to many big events. The team has two more competitions and then they’re off to nationals in Orlando, FL.
“Nationals is a big and exciting event for our team. I’m excited to be able to share this experience with my team and overall just have a good time doing what we all love” said Olivia Seamans ‘24.
The Romeo Dance Team has already had a great start to their season and looks forward to all that is to come!
