Megan Vandeberghe ‘16 – As homecoming approaches, students ready themselves with a fun-filled week of spirit and a hint of friendly competition. Tension creeps in as classes dress with colors and costumes designed to win as many spirit points as possible.
“On class color day, I’m wearing yellow pants, leg warmers, and a yellow shirt,” Leanna Harris ‘18 said. Going all out promotes a sure win when it comes to Harris’ class spirit points. “I’m most excited for Thursday because I get to wear old dance costumes and make a giant neon mess.” While neon is quite the catch, other preparing students have something else in mind.
“20’s day is going to be the most fun. I have a flapper dress and feathered headband all lined up for me,” Andrea Martin ‘15 said. “Seniors are definitely going to win because it’s their last year and they should all be dressing up.” Martin said. Confidence among her class shows exceptional promise. However, despite her aspiration to win, Martin remains humble. “Everyone has a good shot at winning,” Martin said.
“I think the seniors will win the most spirit points because seniors tend to dress up and go all out,” Adam Krstich ‘15 said. Similar to Martin, Krstich flaunts fearlessness when going against the three lower classes.
As excitement floats through the air between classes the tension rises. Which spirited class will prevail?
