Isabella Capanda ‘19: The release of Marvel’s newest action filled adventure brings upon an array of different emotions: excitement, anxiety, hope, mourning. Avengers: Infinity War released on Thursday, April 26, 2018, and the results didn’t disappoint. With returning characters such as Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), and Groot (Vin Diesel), fans can expect great scenes in this movie.
Fans have been waiting desperately for the character Thanos ever since his post-credit appearance in Avengers, and this Titan delivered. With possession of the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos leaves a trail of destruction that results in the death of many of our favorite Marvel characters.
What is most exciting, is the overlapping characters in the Marvel series. Fans witness the crossovers of their favorite superheroes as they join as one to defeat Thanos. Alliances between Star Lord, Dr. Strange, and Tony Stark form in the unfortunate war that they have taken part in.
Moviegoers around the world have one question in the front of their minds as they wait in line to purchase their tickets: who dies? Directors Anthony and Joe Russo kept this secret under lock and key, even going as far as editing actors scripts to prevent them from discovering the doomed characters. Mark Ruffalo– portrayer of the Incredible Hulk and one of the most notorious spoil sports there is– almost revealed just how many deaths occurred in this film. There are many different theories as to who dies and why they died, but one can’t be sure unless they see the film.
This movie brings a variety of characters and aspects to the Marvel community, leaving audiences begging for more.
“I thought it was a great film and Marvel definitely made the ending unpredictable,” said Anissa Villagomez ‘18. “They totally went against everyone’s predictions as to what was going to happen.”
Like Villagomez, hundreds of fans are excited for the next Marvel film, awaiting the return of their favorite characters. Next up on the Marvel line up is none other than the larger than life Ant-Man 2, which is said to release in early July.
