Padyn Kesselring ‘19: Last Friday, facing the Dakota Cougars at Dakota High School, the varsity football team lost 45-7.
Offensively the Bulldogs struggled to move the football, Nate Goralski ‘18 led the rushing game with 36 yards. Austen Malczewski ‘17 threw for a total of 30 yards, but threw for the only Bulldog touchdown when he found Ryan Medley ‘17, who caught the swing and took it 19 yards to the end zone. Romeo also converted on both of their 4th down attempts.
Defensively, Romeo had four sacks putting pressure on Dakota’s quarterback all night. Dakota O’Neil ‘17 contributed nine tackles, while Medley and Brock Horne ‘19 both earned seven.
“I thought we had a very poor defensive performance,” Medley said. “We spent a lot of time on the field and the offense didn’t help us out very much. But we have to do a better job not allowing big plays and being more physical. This week we’ll be much more intense and stick to our jobs.”
Our Bulldogs will look to rebound this Friday in their homecoming game against Fraser at Dan Barnabo Field.
