Justin McNulty ’20: Brock ‘The Hammer’ Horne ‘19 officially wrapped up his recruiting process on Wednesday, December 19, by signing his National Letter of Intent to play with Bowling Green State University.

Horne’s magical senior year consisted of 1,064 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on only 100 carries. Defensively, Horne accounted for 108 overall total tackles with two sacks, with stats according to the Detroit Free Press.

Horne’s outstanding performance throughout the regular season earned himself several postseason accolades.

These accolades consist of First team All Macomb County by The Macomb Daily, First Team All East by both the Detroit News and The Detroit Free Press, along with finding himself amongst the Division 1 All State team by both the Detroit News and Free Press again.

“Going All-State is something I’ve always dreamed of and it’s a great honor to know my picture will be hanging on the wall forever with the rest of Romeo’s All-State athletes,” Horne said.

Horne’s listed as a three star prospect according to 24/7 sports.

He’s the number 36 player in Michigan and the 61 ranked linebacker recruit in the Nation.

He chose to continue his academic and athletic career at Bowling Green State University, over several other division one offers, along with opportunities from instate powerhouses the University of Michigan and Michigan State University.

Horne joins a Bowling Green team who competes in the Mid American Conference (MAC) and looks to immediately help them rebound from a 3-9 season this year.

“Bowling Green felt like the best fit for me because of the relationships I built there. I have great relationships with all the coaches and I know that together we can bring MAC championships to the university,” Horne added.

On the educational side, Horne’s values the opportunity of a free education but remains undecided on what to pursue as his major.

Best of luck to Brock with pursuing his dream of playing football at the next level.
