Jared Czapski ‘18: Brenden Allen ‘18 will be furthering his athletic and academic career at Michigan State University. Allen transferred high schools coming into his junior year, making the move from Armada to Romeo. He earned the All-State title when he was at Armada, and his teammates from Romeo expected big things in his junior and senior year. Brenden certainly did not let them down, earning All-State in Cross Country his senior year.
“Earning All-State this year for Cross Country was a great accomplishment to be able to hit after coming off of a solid 2017 track season, and not being able to compete in 2016 for Cross Country because of the MHSAA transfer rule,” Allen ‘18 said. “I definitely feel it was a little bit of a double edged sword though as it was a great individual accomplishment and transition into indoor track, but our team fell short in achieving the ultimate goal of a state championship.”
He still has a full season of track to finish off before heading to college. Running a 9:15 two mile, and a 4:23 mile, he should prove to be a threat on the track and and make his way to states this upcoming season.
“I am feeling well going into this outdoor track season as I had a solid indoor season, hoping to springboard off of what I did in that season and take it forward,” Allen said. “With heading to run collegiality this fall, I think this track season will be ideal for continuing to get better as a runner and achieving my goals at the high school level.”
Congratulations Brenden on all of his accomplishments and his commitment to Michigan State University.
