Austin Taseski ‘21: The boys varsity dive team competed in the diving league this past week on Thursday, February 21. This meet and league allowed those who failed to enter regionals received a chance to join.
“I placed 9th and I worked hard this year and I think we can do really good against other competition,” Anthony Gojcaj ‘20 said.
Connor White ‘20, who placed eighth, and Gojcaj who placed ninth in the league meet made regionals as first year divers on the team.
Multiple schools participated including Anchor Bay High School and L’anse Creuse Central high school.
Last Friday, the boys varsity swim team also competed in a league meet. Nolan Clifton ‘21 placed tenth in the 500 freestyle event. Jonny Pirau ‘21 placed second in the 500 freestyle event and fourth in the 200 freestyle events. Jack Collins ‘19 also placed sixth in the 200 freestyle. Jordan Hinkley ‘19 placed eighth in the 50 freestyle event and fifth in the fly events.
None of the boys on the Swim team made regionals but all placed last week.
“This year we did great as a team and I think we can only improve because we have a lot of young guys on the team,” Pirau said.
The Bulldogs travel to Bloomfield Hills high school to compete in regionals on Thursday, February 28, with White and Gojcaj.
The boys ended the season with a 6-5 record and head to regionals.
