Jared Czapski ‘18: The Romeo Varsity Soccer team played at home against the Grosse Pointe North Norsemen on October 9. The Bulldogs suffered a loss of 0-3. However, the score doesn’t tell the story of the whole game. A 0-1 score at halftime left the Bulldogs close behind. Late into the final half, the Norseman pulled away with a victory.
“It was definitely a close game,” Eric Waddell 18’ said. “We had a lot of chances in the second half that we just didn’t end up getting.”
The team also played Lakeville on Wednesday, October 11 at home. This game was senior night for the Bulldogs, meaning the seniors started that game. Joseph Moore scored a goal 10 minutes into the first half, gaining a 1-0 lead over Lakeville. The first half ended with a 1-1 tie game. Coming into the second half Michael Trajkoski scored to bring the score to 2-1 lead. Lakeville happened to score 3 more times for a final score of 2-4.
“We missed a lot of chances to score, we got a little bit discouraged and gave up a lot of goals in the 2nd half.” Michael Trojkoski said.
The Bulldogs are 4-10-2 on the season and travel to Port Huron Northern on Monday, October 15 for their district game in hopes of improving their record.
