Elliott Byrd ‘22: After a long pause due to a two week quarantine, the Romeo Bulldogs faced Warren Woods Tower on Thursday, March 18. The 4-5 Bulldogs looked to get back in the winning column after their two week pause.
The Bulldogs started their senior night off hot, ending the first quarter with a six point lead. The Bulldog’s defense played very tenacious as well, holding the Wolverines to only 12 points. Romeo continued to add to their lead in the second quarter, adding another 18 points to their score all while holding Warren Woods to just seven points in the quarter. At halftime, the Bulldogs led the TItans 36 to 19.
After halftime, Warren Woods made some adjustments and picked up their defense finally holding the Bulldogs under 10 points in a quarter. However, the Bulldog’s defense refused to let up any ground. Headed into the fourth quarter Romeo held a comfortable 15 point lead. In the fourth quarter, a couple of players on the Bulldogs got hot, cushioning their lead. The Bulldogs scored 21 points in the fourth quarter alone.
“The biggest factor was when we hit threes in the beginning of the game which gave us an early lead. Once we got our lead we kept our foot on the gas and never looked back,” Brendan Arendts ‘21 said.
Romeo cruised to victory on Senior night with a final score of Romeo 64, Warren Woods 48.
