Kade Messner ‘17: Losing both their games, the boys and girls basketball teams lost their MAC Red division games last night. The boys fell 69-60 to Warren Mott (4-4), falling to 2-6 on the season, and the girls lost 55-32 to Grosse Pointe North (8-1), making their record 6-4.
Playing strong all game, Mitch Heimbuch ‘16 lead the boys team with 16 points. Not far behind, Paul Hurley ‘16 dropped 11. Foreign exchange student, Petar Vujovic ‘16 contributed eight points.
“We are having a hard time getting anything going,” guard Andrew Smith ‘17 said. “Our record is better than it shows. We just need clique a little better.”
Coach Hernden and the lady Bulldogs traveled to GPN last night and played a very talented Norsemen team.
Pacing the squad, Taylor Mueller ‘16 paved the way for her team, scoring 12 points. Mueller also hustled and played well on the defensive end.
“GPN is always very talented,” Amber Flinn ‘18 said. “Playing them gives us a good benchmark at where the team is at. We for sure could have played better though.”
The boys play next at home tomorrow night against Chippewa Valley High School, and the girls play at home Friday night against Grosse Pointe South! Come and support your basketball teams!
