The Romeo High School gymnasium was filled to the brim with people on Wednesday night when the Romeo and Powell Middle School bands along with the High School bands played one final show for the year at the Mega Concert.
“The concert was fun for everyone and it’s nice to see the younger kids getting into band,” Senior Brendan Cieslik said.
After the Jazz Band opened as people walked in, the show continued with the each middle school band by grade.
“I was nervous because of the high schoolers watching us play our music,” Ryan Bilsky (6) said. “I was prepared with my instrument.”
Following the six middle school bands, the High School Cadet, Concert, and Symphonic bands took the stage, each playing a few selections they had been working on. Marching Band finished off the night with their show music from this yearand rundown, which was the last time the seniors would perform this ritual.
“It’s the last time I get to play rundown, so I’m pretty sad,” Jacob Peyerk (12) said. “It’s been really fun, and I’m going to miss it.”
Despite all the personnel changes throughout the year, Thomas Anderson (12) feels that the concert went quite well.
“The teachers always do a good job of managing it, despite all the chaos coming with several different groups playing,” Anderson said. “The concert went really well, It was a great final concert for Romeo’s Marching Band.”
