Macy Manchester ‘18: During Charity Week, Romeo High School exceeded expectations. Over the course of the week with penny wars, Mr. Bulldog, miracle minute, sporting events, t-shirt sales and dance tickets, Romeo High raised a total of $17,000 for the Goodfellows Foundation. Goodfellows is an organization that gives aids to families in the local area. In charge of charity week, Student Council gave their time and dedication to raising as much money as possible.
“We worked really hard all week to sell shirts and tickets and encouraging people to donate during miracle minutes and penny wars,” Madison Turley ‘18 said. “It was really rewarding once we saw the reaction of the GoodFellows once they received the check, it made all the hard work pay off.”
Madison Turley, the publicist of student council, along with the help of other members of the council, made sure charity week ran smoothly.
“We chose GoodFellows because we originally wanted to give to money to help families in Romeo who lost their homes in a fire, and since GoodFellows gives aid to families around the area, we thought it was the perfect fit,” Madison Turley ‘18 said.
Once again, Romeo High School can congratulate themselves on successfully completing another Charity Week.
