Sarah Himmelsbaugh ‘21: With high hopes of continuing their winning streak, the girls’ golf team took on Chippewa Valley at Hickory Hollow Golf Course this past Tuesday, the 15th. A successful round for the Bulldogs, they took the win once again with a final score of 192 – 233.
Surprisingly slow that afternoon, the greens cost the team some putts indefinitely. However, all six players came in with stories of personal highlights to share, and four great scores to count towards the team total. The match medalist, Sarah Himmelsbaugh ‘21 maintained the low score between both teams with a 41.
“I am improving every round, and it was a nice course and everyone was fun to play with,” Denomme said. Her teammates share her positive outlook on the week.
An important win for the team, their record improved to 6-1.
On Wednesday, the 17th, the Romeo JV girls’ golf team teed it up against Eisenhower’s JV team in a practice match at Cherry Creek Golf Club. Romeo pulled through with yet another win, carding a 211 against Ike’s 222. Some highlights included Emily Stilner ‘24 with an incredible 44, and Gabriella Kirsh ‘22 and Ella Chomas ‘23 both draining long putts on the final hole. This was an outstanding showing for the JV team’s first time on the course for competition.
