Justin McNulty 20: This Tuesday May 8, the Bulldogs softball team traveled to Henry Ford II High School to play against the Falcons. Romeo came out on top in this matchup, slightly edging the Falcons by a final score of 6-4.
Riding a two game win streak, the Bulldogs record improved to 5-12 on the season.
This record places them in fourth out of six teams in the MAC Red standings.
“This was a huge win for us and hopefully it will continue to provide us with momentum when we play tougher opponents later on this week,” Jordyn Chapman ‘19 stated.
On Wednesday, Romeo hosts St. Clair High School followed by another home game against Anchor Bay High School on Thursday.
Justin McNulty ’20: The outcome of the Wednesday, May 9 game might be one the Bulldogs soon choose to forget, after being defeated 13-7 by the Saints of St. Clair High School.
St. Clair’s offense proved especially dominant against Romeo’s pitching staff, who allowed 13 earned runs throughout the seven inning game.
“We struggled right from the beginning on Wednesday, getting down early and just never were able to get back into the game,” Chapman added.
Romeo then took on Anchor Bay on Thursday, May 10, and lost by a final score of 14-10.
The Bulldogs battled hard for all seven innings against the Tars who, currently sit atop the MAC Red softball standings.
After going 1-2 this week, the Bulldogs maintained their spot as the 4th place team in the MAC Red.
Romeo resumes action next week traveling to Dakota on Tuesday, May 15, followed by playing Eisenhower, at home on Thursday, May 17.
