Robert Gjelaj ‘19: The girls varsity soccer team played the Chippewa Valley Reds on Monday, April 22. The outcome of the game ended 4-2 favoring the Reds. The two goals came halfway through the first half by Sophia Zaluck ‘22. The Bulldogs record for conference play falls to 2-1-2 placing them third in the MAC White.

“Sophia Zalucki worked hard and led the team with two goals,” Haley Bouthillet ‘20 said. “However, during the second half our team let the win get the best of us. We stopped working hard and let Chippewa score four goals. This is a game to remember and learn from.”

On Wednesday, April 24, the team faced Lakeshore High School and came out with an 2-0 victory. For the Bulldogs, Simona Iacobacci ‘20 and Chloe Lucci ‘19 scored the goals and Emmy Rodgers ‘21 came out with a clean sheet. The Bulldogs improved to  a 4-2-3 combined record on the season.

“We really recovered after our game Monday,”  Alexa Morici ‘21 said. “The team came together and pulled off the win. Chloe Lucci scored a great goal late in the game to help secure the win.”

The Bulldogs look forward to the chance to improve their record with matchups against the Utica Chieftains, Fraser Ramblers, and L’Anse Creuse North Crusaders this week.
