Giulianelli ‘22: The Romeo Volleyball team faced their first district game this past Thursday, November 4th against Eisenhower High School.
Fighting to make it to the next round of districts both the Bulldogs and Eagles put forth their best effort. Both teams gave it their all and played to the best of their abilities. Unfortunately, the Eagles ended up sweeping the Bulldogs in all three sets. The score of the first set ended up 16-25, second 23-25, and third 24-26.
“I feel like our game started off really slow but in the second two sets we gave all our fight to try to pull through, but we just started fighting too late. I think we all wanted it, however, we most definitely could have performed better,” Caitlin Jaskolski ‘22 said.
The Bulldogs despite their loss look back at all the good times and memories they have had this season. Senior Ella Lackowski reminisced on the season, “One of my favorite memories this season would have to be our Halloween practice. It was fun getting to dress up and have a good time. Not to mention everyone was having a good time and we had a really good practice,” Lackowski ‘22 said.
Looking back at all their games this season, Lackowski says her “favorite game was going against Stevenson. We won 3-0 and had good team chemistry. Everyone was working really hard and it really showed in the end.”
Finishing their season with a 1-9 record, senior Caitlin Jaskolski weighs in on her last season playing for Romeo.
“I think our season was a rough one, but we all learned a lot. There were many ups and downs that we went through as a team and were able to overcome all of them. It definitely could have gone way better, but it doesn’t always work that way and it was a learning experience,“ Jaskolski ‘22 said.
The seniors wish the Romeo Volleyball Team the best of luck next year and are looking forward to seeing their team compete next year.
